Never Have I Ever for Couples
The classic game, designed for two people who want to actually learn something
Why this format works for couples
Never Have I Ever is usually a party game — the more people the better, the wilder the revelations the better. But there's something genuinely useful about the format for couples too. The framing "never have I ever" gives you an easy way to surface things about your past without it feeling like a confessional or an interrogation.
The catch is that the standard party game questions are either too raunchy or too boring for an actual conversation between two people who care about each other. So these are designed differently: honest enough to be interesting, but pointed enough to actually tell you something about each other.
No points, no penalties. Just take turns, answer honestly, and follow the threads that come up.
How to play (simplified)
- ✓ One person reads the statement. Both answer honestly.
- ✓ If "I have" — tell the story (or as much as you're ready to share)
- ✓ If "I haven't" — talk about whether you'd ever want to
- ✓ No wrong answers. No pressure. Just honest conversation.
The Statements
1. Never have I ever sent a text to the wrong person
💭 If they haven't, they're either careful or lucky

💭 Almost everyone has -- the story behind it matters
3. Never have I ever told a lie to get out of a social event
💭 No judgment. This is solidarity.
4. Never have I ever cried at a movie I didn't expect to cry at
💭 Which one? That's the real question
5. Never have I ever had a crush on someone I shouldn't have
💭 Vague enough to be safe, specific enough to be interesting
6. Never have I ever quit something right before it got good
💭 We all have one of these

💭 Fear-based decisions
8. Never have I ever ghosted someone
💭 No judgment -- but tell me the story
9. Never have I ever dated someone my friends didn't like

💭 The fantasy of the clean slate

25. Never have I ever done something spontaneous that turned out to be one of the best decisions I made
